Partnership House
We
began another house
June 2, 2007
in financial and construction labor partnership with
ten other churches in connection with Greater Columbus
Habitat for Humanity. Two or three of our volunteers
are typically needed from each church for each working
Saturday
8 a.m. - mid afternoon. Volunteers can come and go as
their schedule permits. A smaller group works on Thursday's.
Family
Name:
The family that we built for is the Ali family. They
are a Somali family. The husbands name is Abdiwali.
He works for the Columbus Health Department. He speaks
very fluent English. His wife understands English very
well but is not real comfortable speaking it. They have
4 children ranging between 2-6 years old.

Volunteers
Needed:
As on last year's house,
we need 20+ volunteers. Most work is performed on Saturday's.
A small crew works during the day on Thursdays. Typical
workday: 8 - 3 PM. Lunch is served. Volunteers can come
and go as their schedule permits. No experience is necessary;
leaders on the site will provide direction and training.
Besides volunteers
with tools, volunteers
are needed to help with the Steering
Committee, to be
a Food Coordinator
for every 8th Saturday,
and to be a Coordinator
to recruit volunteers to work each Saturday
during construction.
