Northwest Christian Church Sewing Guild #9
(also, knitting, crocheting and crafting skills)
When:
1st Tuesday every month
Arrive 8:30-9 AM
Sew up to 3 hours.
 

What They Do:
Sew lap robes for patients in wheelchairs, make burp cloths for the nursery, stuff toys for apprehensive youngsters, make caps for patients having brain surgery, and design Christmas stockings for December newborns.

Handmade items comfort patients and are the means of an exchange of human warmth and care.

 

Become a member:
All ages are welcome. You do not have to be a professional seamstress. People who can use scissors or just want to put their free hands to work are needed.

Also, you can use your knitting, crocheting and crafting skills as contributions to our patients.

 
Dues:
$5 per year. This money is used to provide scholarships to nursing students.

(if you sew 3 hrs)$4.00 off lunch at the hospital deli or cafeteria.
Free flu vaccine available through the hospital's Employee Health Dept.
Yearly appreciation luncheon.
 
What to Bring:
Bring scissors (sewing machines provided)

Call the church office to relay a message to Julia Obenour or ask the Riverside Methodist Hospital Information Desk to inquire the location of the Sewing Guild room at the hospital.
