NWCC helps Christian Church Camp in Chile
Camp memories are life long memories!
Bonnie Goldner, left, shares photos and other materials about her travel to a church camp, "The Shalom Center, "in the country of Chile in South America. The land for this camp was purchased for $200,000 by the combined efforts of the outreach efforts of the Christian Church in Ohio of which our church is a member and the Pentecostal Church in Chile. Bonnie explained that pentecostal in Chile is the same thing as protestant church in the USA. We contributed to this camp while we were contributing to the upgrading of our own Ohio regional church camp.

The Shalom Center is located at the base of a mountain range and next to a national park. Thus, much of the purchased land is mountainous and the neighboring land is well kept.

Bonnie showed a group of photos and a video from the camp - many children smiling as they participated in crafts, groups in study and prayer, and groups working to cut wood for the one cabin and several path markers. The surrounding mountains and waterfalls are beautiful!

They have an urgent need of adequate restrooms and showers. Cost estimate is $20,200. Churches are being asked to cover $13,000. The money is needed for water fixtures, sewage treatment, and solar heating of the water.

Just as we feel strongly about the positive program in our Ohio regional church camp, these children in Chile are excited about their program. However, they need water for their camp to continue and grow. Please consider a designated gift to the Shalom Center in your giving to the church.
